The thread starter asked about rolling acceleration between 488 and 296. My responds was simply answering his question objectively. With each gen the handling, breaking, weight improved. For example 488 is lighter than 458 and handles a lot better. 296 is quite light for a hybrid and will outhandle 458, 488, and F8.. If you really care about speed, the 488 is better. If you want a pure Ferrari more old-school, with amazing engine note, the 458 will do the job like no other. A fair question considering that since the 458 Italia launched in 2011, Ferrari's sold people said Italia, the 458 Speciale, the 488 GTB, the 488 Pista, and now the F8 Tributo. Yes, I'm leaving.. The 488 GTB comes powered by a 3.9-liter twin-turbo V8 with 660 hp and 560 lb-ft of torque. By comparison, the outgoing 458 Italia's 4.5-liter naturally aspirated V8 punched out 562 hp and 398 lb.
